Naughty Nymph Ramblings

Remember me? The girl who sucks at full-fledged blog entries but is a tweeting maniac most days? I start to think about how to approach blogging after, um, not having anything here since September, and then I just decide I'd rather go answer 10-15 fan emails/messages, or post a couple of cam snaps in my TwitPics before I start camming than come back to blogger and confess that I'm awful at blogging again. I think I really just need to re-adapt my style to being LESS RAMBLING. I know, I know the irony! The title of this blog is "The Naughty Nymph Rambles"! Well, perhaps, just perhaps, I will strive to be less wordy. I'm pretty most folks are really just looking for pictures and links anyway. That and to make sure I haven't given up my naked-porno-ways.

My site was down long enough for me to think about what it would be like if I didn't have it anymore. As odd as it might sound, I think that was a good experience for me. It's no secret to my hardcore followers that I've not been that together with the adult webmaster part of my life for some time now, but after dwelling in the "it could just all be gone... if I want it to be gone..." feelings for awhile, other feelings surfaced. What I learned from the experience is that I'd LOVE to start again. I really need a website that reflects what I'm doing now. Sure, I still have a thing for panties and pantyhose, but what I've grown most comfortable with since about March is the idea that I'm a helluva good webcam model. I think I've really blossomed (yeah, yeah, AmberLily just said that she's BLOSSOMED) after getting the hang of HD camming on Streamate. So I've already started a revamp for my website. I won't be completely rebuilding everything, but it does need to be made more current.



It's all I can do not to go and register a new, more appropriately fitting url -- maybe even something with a freaking .COM so people can find me more easily!!! -- but I'm going to restrain myself until I get the new pages up. That's my goal. In a couple of months time, to have a redesigned site that will work out for better for a nerdy camgirl like me. Again, I appreciate those of you who've stuck with me through-out the years -- through different payment processors/systems, webcam network site platforms, and now this recent server hard drive failure. I'm gonna try to make sure we get at least one "Members Only" Holiday Camshow before the month of December is out, so check the inside of my members area for that.



Remember that part earlier where I said I was going to try to be less rambling? Guess, I didn't quite make it this time with that new philosophy, huh? I'll be back in later to try again. Maybe even with some Star Wars links. In the mean time, enjoy what's left of the weekend!

If you haven't already guessed, it's just been all about me and my almost-every-night webcam routine and little else since I last blogged. Eat, sleep, take the dog out for a walk, pet the cats, kiss BigD, cam, cam, cam! I love camming, really, I do, but this schedule I've been on has been a bit much. 100% necessary to my financial survival, mind you, but it hasn't been leaving me with much time to smell the roses.

So it's about time I started gambling. No, not of the playing poker variety -- of the stripclub variety. I *want* to remain optimistic about the club conditions here, and there are many, many more clubs to choose from than in the last state we lived in, but I think my standards are just awful high. I don't want to work in a stripclub masquerading as a whore-house (because I'd so just make the jump to be a straight up "working girl" & head on out to the Bunny Ranch if that's what I wanted) and obviously I don't want to work at a dead club where I can't make any money because I always count on making *something* webcamming. Or at least not ending the night *owing* money which is one of things that happens when you're an exotic dancer.



I've been waiting patiently for the sucky for sales post-Christmas period to be over before I even attempt to scope any of the SoCal stripclubs out, and I think this week is the week. I'm SUPER nervous, but I've missed being a stripper too much to not try. It was a job that I actually felt like I was getting *better* at before we moved away from Memphis to stripper-hostile Seattle where I couldn't put myself at risk of arrest for such little reward. (I STILL don't get how a rough town like Memphis can be safer for a girl to get naked on a stage for pay in than Seattle, but whatever, I'm not there to concern myself with it anymore.)



My ideal is to find a good club that I can work two, three, or four nights a week and then still cam or work on my sites the remaining nights while being able to afford a day off or even *two* days off most weeks. Heck, if I'm being that positive, maybe I'll EVEN be able to take a vacation at some point. (Not holding my breath here, but ya never know, lol.) I'm sure those of you who work for yourself know where I'm coming from with all of this schedule talk.



I'd like to take a moment before I hit "Publish Post" to say thank you to those who've maintained their subscriptions to either or both of my sites, the "main" one AmberLily.net and the foot fetish only version NymphFeet.com. For what they've lacked in photo gallery and video updates, I like to feel like I've made up for with unlimited access to my PrivateCamz archives that update damn near everyday and my regular one-hour Camz Group Shows. That's where all of these webcam shots have come from, one of last night's one-on-one sessions. That page on my site has an outdated number of shows now. As of February 11th 2010 I'm now over 3400 shows. Wowie, does that seem like a lot or what? So, please enjoy those as I *continue* to get my computer issues squared away. (Yup, I've not yet figured out how to afford a new computer on my present budget so that I have a decent machine to work on while I try to fix all of the broken computers -- cuz, man, are they ever freaking broken. Ugh.)

And I will keep you posted on how the return to exotic dancing is going or if it's even going at all. No worries there, my SoCal friends. If I can find the right place, I'll fer sure want you to come out and play with me in person.

Unfortunately, Camz went down today *right before* my weekly 1-hour group camshow was scheduled to start at 7pm ET / 4pm PT. I'm sure it was just another case of unknown/unexpected technical difficulties with their latest system changes. Nevertheless, I was on time and ready, and I hit my twitter to fill everyone in on what was going on as it was happening. So after goofing around and recording those, I decided to test out a free twitter-friendly cam service called CamTweet.com because I figured why not sit & chat while dressed up in my sexy red and black Cuban heel stockings before BigD got home. Things were purely non-nude as per their TOS, but it was a nice way to feel connected for a few moments with my site members and non-members alike -- after we figured out to use the chatroom to communicate with each other, of course. Not the easiest, most-streamlined method for webcam broadcasting, but my impromptu chat seemed to go over pretty well, and we appreciated the venue. I rambled up a storm about music and stripping and television shows and stuff while only getting tongue-tied a few times here and there. There was no clock at CamTweet, but I'm fairly certain that my free webcam stream lasted for 40-50 minutes or so and the quality wasn't half bad. The experience was a reminder that yes, webcam stuff can be fun *even* when it's just all talking and me playing with my hair while not getting naked.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to easily slip into another CamZ Group Show timeslot this week to attempt a make-up show, but if I can -- I will be sure to post it the members area & on my twitter. (And yes, I realize that my tweets over there in the sidebar of my blog are looking like ass -- I need to figure out a prettier way to display them. I just don't have it figured out yet.)

The owner of Camz sent all of the performers on the Camz network an email explain the recent tech issues: As it turns out, the building where the computers for Camz are hosted was to receive an upgrade to their air conditioning. Instead of doing the A/C units one at a time as instructed, they shut down all of the A/C units at once. The temporary units brought in were not enough to keep the data center cooled. This caused the data center to overheat and machines were shut down. The hosting company was not at fault since they were not even notified of the air unit upgrade. However, the end result was Camz lost a few core machines. This caused a great deal of downtime and instability. Long story short is that Camz has the new machines and is nearing the completion of many of the transfers that will once again add stability to the network. They've even taken it a step further and set up redundancy to their core machines to avoid issues like this in the future.

So there we are. You know what I know. What I wrote above is pretty much a regurgitation of the email I received. I'm optimistic that the worst is behind us and that my regular one-hour shows will more *regular*. My current weekly showtime is still: Tuesdays, 7pm ET / 4pm PT. See you tomorrow? Figured it would be a good idea to record a vlog explaining about my group camshow situation -- Camz has been experiencing quite a few technical issues over the last month or so, and so it's been a gamble whether or not my shows would still be, well, showing. I'm going to see what's happening with my support request, and if they can give us any sort of time frame on when their server problems are going to be over. In all honesty, I'm not sure that they'll have any specific answers to give. Problems just happen.

Am I still timely with this latest update for AmberLily.net? Or are you one of those sticklers for punctuality? Or worse yet, you're a Valentine's Day Hater who doesn't want to play along with holidays that revolve around greetings cards, chocolates/candy, and sexy lingerie/adult novelties? See, I'm not, even back in the dark ages when I wasn't in a relationship -- I was all about the chocolates, lingerie, and sex toys. (Come to think about it, I think we could make a strong case that I'm *still* all about those last three things, huh? *wink*) You just can't go wrong with those. So a whole day that revolves around that tied with a big red bow. Okay, I'm game.

I've been trying really hard to get back into my webwhore routine, but I keep falling behind or getting side-tracked which is why I'm not going to beat myself up with my day-late Valentine's Day update. I got my NymphFeet.com picture gallery in on time, but that achy back of mine started acting up, and I was forced to take a time-out. I actually slept most of Valentine's away -- waking up only to go to Best Buy with BigD to pick up some (probably) non-romantic flicks on dvd. We haven't slipped Max Payne into the dvd player so we haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to take a wild guess that it's fairly minimal on the lovey-dovey subplot. And I'm good with that because we *did* finally get to see Zack & Miri Make A Porno and there was enough of that special sweetness to tide me over for awhile. Yes, Zack & Miri is totally adorable and the perfect gift to give to friends and family as a Valentine's present.



But on with the talk of my latest update! If you haven't already surmised from glimpsing the photographic samples accompanying this entry, this update was all about a sundress, an open bottom girdle, a sultry pair of stockings with a cuban heel, and my black pumps. I shot these pictures and video of myself in the wee hours of the morning a couple of days ago -- working with only the most basic of lamps so the pictures have moody quality to them that I rather like. It makes them feel more retro which is appropriate given that the girdle is on the old-fashioned side. I hope that my members will like them and the teasing 5+ minute music video too.

I wanted to pop in and blog about the *new* free tour of AmberLily.net be up for all to travel through, but I wanted to do it as the same time that the members side was finished too. And, well, being that I'm me and that I'm always filled with good intentions, the members side isn't done yet. Oh! I also wanted to have a new gallery of pictures for members that's was supposed to be done all at the same time too. Talk about loading myself up with too much, lol.

The bulk of "my work day" (or maybe I should say "work afternoon" and "work night" since I'm nestled quite nicely back on my night owl schedule) is chock full of emailing members and private show customers or chatting with them via messenger AND THEN climbing aboard a private webcam system to actually perform on cam. The webcam girl part of myself is pretty satisfied with this routine, but the webmaster part is annoyed with not getting those pages up, the photo gallery posted. I always want to do more, more, more. Large amounts of coffee and leaving the house only a couple of times a week gets me pretty far... So bear with me as I continue to rebuild.

You may be reading this and wondering, well, if I hardly leave the house as it is, then WHY does it even matter that those of us living in the Seattle area are about to get snowed/iced in for a week? To that I say, see, it doesn't really matter -- UNLESS I want to have a happy hubby who can get to his work so that he's not behind at the office and because my paychecks delivered to my private snail mail box (which now that I've moved isn't going to be easy to get to). Yeah, except for that bored/restless BigD situation and the paycheck/banking issue, I guess in most ways my day-to-day isn't going to be terribly affected providing my internet connection holds up okay.

So yesterday when the roads were open, BigD and I went out to stock up on groceries and see about getting tire chains for his truck. We would have survived with the food stuff we've got in the house; our pantry is loaded with large-sized bags of rice that are for "The End Times" as BigD is fond of saying. You never know when there will be a natural disaster or a zombie invasion, so it's better to be prepared. The auto parts store we are closest to was long since sold out of the chains for his truck's tires, but they did have some for my car so we got those. Neither one of us is terribly familiar with such things having both grown up in Southern California where snow is purely optional. In So Cal, if you want to see experience snow bad enough, all you need do is find a way up to Big Bear and voila -- pretty pretty snow. Or you can stay within the comfort of the valley and see it coat the mountain tops.

Er, technically today since it's about 1:30am right now. This will be my first "getting tied up" for pay experience, and I'm rather looking forward to it. David Knight contacted me a few weeks ago via a modeling profile that I posted not too long after our move to Washington. I've always wanted to dabble in some professional modeling and the "damsel in distress" photo samples that I've seen look like they could be fun. The sites that David directed me to use more amateur girl-next-door types than professional fetish models, so I think "my look" is definitely suitable for their bondage scenarios. (Because this is a paid shoot, members won't be seeing any of the content on either of my websites, but I will inquire as to when my photos/videos are online so my die-hard fans will be able to see how I spent this particular Saturday.) The location's a bit of a drive, and BigD has elected to come along even though I know he'll be bored, so we'll be gone for pretty much the entire day. I should *probably* be in bed now, but I figured I'd do a nice hot shower tonight and am letting my hair dry while I make a post here since I *very obviously* still don't blog enough, lol.

It's been a weird last couple of weeks, and I'd like to apologize for not being more prolific in my blog and site. Some of you who are able to attend my group shows have heard me complain about "my tummy issues" and while I to try to keep the negatives to a minimum because I'm there to have fun and be entertaining at the same time. (I don't figure that I'm really being a downer by including a little bit more explanation of what's going on here.) I know that quite of few folks who read my blog care about my well-being. Evidently, somewhere around Labor Day Weekend, I picked up a strange bacteria that gave me a bacterial stomach infection. I thought I had stomach flu because anytime I'd try to have dinner, back up it would come. When it didn't go away, I thought I'd better see the doctor who immediately recommended blood tests. A few short days later, the results came in and they discovered what I picked up. Now, they've told me the name, but it's something unpronounceable, and I don't even remember enough of what it *kind of* sounded like to type it's name here. I was paranoid that maybe I'd given it to myself -- Just maybe I was a bad webwhore who hadn't washed all of her dildos throughly enough or something like that, but no, this was definiately an icky you tend to get out, probably even at a restaurant. If left untreated, this bacteria will cause a stomach ulcer, so we're trying to make sure *that* doesn't happen with high-powered antibotics and other meds that I'm taking twice a day for a total of fourteen days. And lemme tell ya, gosh are they gross. Better than the alternative, I'm sure, but still blech with a variety of side effects that I don't think I need to get into. Only six more days and that should be that. Whew! I think it's really messed with my normal energy level and has affected my mood, but really I believe myself to be in good spirits and am going to be *very* happy when I'm all normal again.

I'm going to make a conscious effort to sit down and spend the necessary three to four hours to work on a gallery update for AmberLily.net this weekend. At the moment, I'm going back and forth between one of the photo set's that Trixie shot of me or the one I mentioned earlier. Maybe I'll get ambitious and do *two* photo gallery updates because I'm behind. :)

And now, to answer a few random questions I've gotten via email lately:

--Yes, I *have* gotten to see the first two episodes of HBO's "True Blood" and found it to be more exciting than I expected. (A thank you shout out to Cliff who was nice enough to indulge me.) It's not as emotionally investing as Buffy or Angel was for me, but maybe that's something that's still coming. I love that it's in The South because, yes, there are times when I miss those colorful southern expressions. :)

--No, I didn't make it to the movies in time to see the Star Wars cartoon movie. That's more of a BigD thing though I certainly wasn't opposed to going. We just kind of ran out of time, and unless we find it at an older theater, I think we're out of luck and will have to wait for the dvd.

--Yes, now that it's October I *do* have some costumes lined up for my two hour-long group webcam shows. As a matter of fact, my costume shows have already started! I was Snow White on CamZ last Tuesday and in my Catholic School Girl Uniform on Thursday at Rude. It's looking like I will be able to have .flv archives of my CamZ shows available to members of AmberLily.net in the near future. I'm tempted to fork over some dough on another video editing program that will be able to convert those files into regular Windows Media, but I just haven't been able to do it because...

--No, my monitor is still near death. Sigh. BigD's offered up his monitor, but I just don't feel good about taking it. I'm not thrilled with buying a new one, but it's just time for me to face the fact that one of these days it's not going to work at all. It wasn't the most expensive flat screened monitor to start with but still... Such is life, aye?

Okay, my hair is dry and it's much later than I intended to stay up, but that's what I get for not blogging more regularly. A really long entry that wanders all over the place. :)
