Star Tours 2.0 Is Out Of This World

As annual pass holders for Disneyland, BigD and I had a special opportunity to enter a lottery for a preview tour of the new Star Tours on Disneyland.com before the ride opened to the general public on June 3rd and won! Whoo hoo!

Wanting to make the most of the opportunity, I decided to book us a room at one of their hotels, The Paradise Pier Hotel, so we'd be there bright & early for our 9am reservation. This is the closest to an actual vacation that we've been on in some years, so I had to share a few pictures...

This Mickey Waffle didn't survive our breakfast....

Star Tours... The Scenic Way To See The Galaxy...

Arrivals.... Destinations... I'm still not *exactly* clear where we're going again? Maybe this will make more sense to me after I get my 3D glasses on.

The Starspeeder 1000 is a whole lot like the 3000 except it's red & white instead of white & blue.

Hey, is that you R4? Whatchabeenuptomaaaannnn?

Who's this goofy chick in the R2 Mickey Ears hat waiting in line for Star Tours? Oh, right... Can you believe that she was picked to be the Rebel Spy TWICE? Yup, out of cabins full of passengers. Twice.

We really did have some view from our room at the Paradise Pier. Look how much of the boardwalk at Disney's California Adventure you can see from up here. We didn't even need to get tickets for the World Of Color show. All we had to do was open the window.

I had BigD take this last one right before we ended the night with some nookie. I thought it would be a prettier picture without the flash and think I was right.

Overall, we had a lovely time, and I think our two nights away was a good warm-up for a *real* vacation. I feel blessed that we were able to sneak away and while part of me wanted to shoot naughty pictures in our cute, beach-themed hotel room -- I even packed a couple of outfits -- I honestly needed the downtime after going on Star Tours LIKE EIGHT OR NINE TIMES. Talk about being "a little shaken" as C3PO says of the Rebel Spy.

Our preview reservation window went from 9am-1pm, but because they were experiencing technical issues at the start of the day, they expanded it to 4pm. Basically, they allowed me & three of friends to go through the Star Tours Fast Pass once every 30 minutes to get a ticket to get on the ride. That ended up fixing it so that there was more than enough Star Tours for motion-sickness-prone me. I walked BigD & our friend John through the Fast Pass line so they could keep going and going because they are total madmen whose brains don't get rattled by immersive 3D experiences. (I was the contest winner and the reservation was in my name & had my annual passport's barcode registered so I stuck around to make sure they could get on.) I believe when it was all said and done, they went on Star Tours like 18 or 19 times! Why go on it so many times? Because each trip is a little different. There are several randomly-generated scenarios that include different characters (Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Yoda & others) and destinations (Hoth, Kashyyyk, Coruscant, Tatooine & more). My honey got to see all of locations with his many trips. I got to see all of them except Naboo. A little something left for me to be surprised with on future trips aboard the Starspeeder 1000. The Adventures Continue...

So, yes, this new version of Star Tours is awesome and worth the wait time. Today is opening day so expect the lines to be really REALLY long. If you can do a Fast Pass -- do the freakin Fast Pass! And if you're prone to motion sickness but are a huge Star Wars nerd like myself, see if you can get in the first three rows because they're a little less bumpy. My feet didn't even touch the ground in the last row which I think made it feel more intense.

If you missed my earlier Star Tours photos, they're still hosted in my TwitPics here. (We went to Disneyland on May 25th & were extremely lucky/crafty/in the right place at the right time to have caught a "soft opening" & actually saw Star Tours 2.0 for the very first time then, but we only got to go on it once. So, that's why those pictures are dated earlier.)

Star Wars Links Worth Hitting (December 2010)

Ready for a few more Star Wars links that are worth hitting? All three of the ones that I have this go around would make lovely gifts for Christmas or gifts for any occasion just because they are all freakin' awesome anytime of year. That's right, I said it, Star Wars is good any time year round.

"The Sexy"

Star Wars Droids Swim Wear

I'm not sure how many people forward me this link to Black Milk's website because they wanted to make sure that I saw how cool and sexy these droid swim suits were, but it was more than a couple. For a mere $85, you can bask in the the sunshine beside the pool dressed like either R2D2 or C-3PO. One pieces with Star Wars style! I think the only thing that's holding me back from buying either one of these is that they mention that they are unlined. Sure, that'd be cool for camming in, but man, I'd want to proudly wear my Artoo out there at the beach (that like one day a year when I actually go to the beach) and not worry about my little perky nipples sticking out. If I had to guess, I'd say the hot babes modeling these suits are both wearing bras. Anyhoo, a notable find.

"The Adorable"

Chewie & Han By Chris Wahl

Couldn't you just squeal because these Chewie & Han T-Shirts are super duper adorable? I'll take Chewie & Han over Calvin & Hobbes any day. Shirts come in a wide range of different colors and with sizes all the way up to XXXL so almost any fanboy or fangirl will be covered in comfortable cotton cuteness for less than $25. (Don't be surprised if you see me in one of these in my Streamate Chatroom though I haven't bought one yet... I can't make up mind as to which color to get...)

"The Tasty"

Star Wars Vader's Dark Side Roast Coffee

Some of you already know how much I like ThinkGeek stuff (that dashing 8-bit neck tie that I'm wearing in my last blog entry is from ThinkGeek, for example) and this new product they've given us is destined to be a surefire hit. A match made in nerd heaven! Pay homage to the Dark Lord of The Sith and quench your need for caffeine in one fell swoop! I'm going to be sure to order some the next time I place an order for Root Jack. Night owl camgirls gotta keep on our toes, after all. Beverages such as these are the keys to our happiness and success. If you nab some before I do, be sure to let me know how you like it. Please leave a comment here on my blog or tweet me or email me. Before I forget to mention it, I went ahead and made a ThinkGeek Wishlist because I saw they had that feature. I couldn't remember seeing it as an option before, so I dunno, maybe it's relatively new? They really do have way, way too many cool things. I don't recommended even clicking any links to their site unless you have at least 30 minutes to go browsing.

And speaking of wishlists, I've been very fortunate to have received a few things from my Amazon Wishlist lately that I will try to show off here in my blog within the next couple of entries.

And... I'm Back UP!

Remember me? The girl who sucks at full-fledged blog entries but is a tweeting maniac most days? I start to think about how to approach blogging after, um, not having anything here since September, and then I just decide I'd rather go answer 10-15 fan emails/messages, or post a couple of cam snaps in my TwitPics before I start camming than come back to blogger and confess that I'm awful at blogging again. I think I really just need to re-adapt my style to being LESS RAMBLING. I know, I know the irony! The title of this blog is "The Naughty Nymph Rambles"! Well, perhaps, just perhaps, I will strive to be less wordy. I'm pretty most folks are really just looking for pictures and links anyway. That and to make sure I haven't given up my naked-porno-ways.

Speaking of "giving up" that's exactly what the server that hosts our sites did mid-November, so if you tried to cruise by AmberLily.net and my friends sites TastyTrixie.com & DeliaTS.com and saw this BAD NEWS message -- that's what THAT was about.
Needless to say, it was horrible. Truly, honestly, my heart still goes out to Trixie & Delia because it was such a demoralizing blow for them. The majority of their earnings and their financial way of life comes from operating their sites, and to see their years of hard work go *POOF* over the course of a couple of hours is beyond words. Even with everything being mostly recovered, I still shake my head thinking about it. I've been through major losses with my own hardware, and there was that whole ProAdult fiasco a few years ago when they just up and left the amateur porn webmasters in their AVS -- dropping our figurative dicks in the dirt and shitting all over them, but yeah -- it really bears repeating that even if you think your work is backed up maybe you should back it up a couple more times because the technology that helps us run our lives sure ain't perfect. I was missing some of my most current galleries from my members area because they were backed up on the PC that I lost, but really over the last two years I've been much, much better about not keeping all of my eggs in one basket. I'm even looking forward to any post-Christmas sales at Best Buy or online somewhere so I can get another external hard drive or two just in case...

My site was down long enough for me to think about what it would be like if I didn't have it anymore. As odd as it might sound, I think that was a good experience for me. It's no secret to my hardcore followers that I've not been that together with the adult webmaster part of my life for some time now, but after dwelling in the "it could just all be gone... if I want it to be gone..." feelings for awhile, other feelings surfaced. What I learned from the experience is that I'd LOVE to start again. I really need a website that reflects what I'm doing now. Sure, I still have a thing for panties and pantyhose, but what I've grown most comfortable with since about March is the idea that I'm a helluva good webcam model. I think I've really blossomed (yeah, yeah, AmberLily just said that she's BLOSSOMED) after getting the hang of HD camming on Streamate. So I've already started a revamp for my website. I won't be completely rebuilding everything, but it does need to be made more current.

It's all I can do not to go and register a new, more appropriately fitting url -- maybe even something with a freaking .COM so people can find me more easily!!! -- but I'm going to restrain myself until I get the new pages up. That's my goal. In a couple of months time, to have a redesigned site that will work out for better for a nerdy camgirl like me. Again, I appreciate those of you who've stuck with me through-out the years -- through different payment processors/systems, webcam network site platforms, and now this recent server hard drive failure. I'm gonna try to make sure we get at least one "Members Only" Holiday Camshow before the month of December is out, so check the inside of my members area for that.

Remember that part earlier where I said I was going to try to be less rambling? Guess, I didn't quite make it this time with that new philosophy, huh? I'll be back in later to try again. Maybe even with some Star Wars links. In the mean time, enjoy what's left of the weekend!

PS - Yes, that is me sucking on Obi-Wan in that last webcam picture. Sweet, tasty, middle-aged Obi-Wan...

PPS - I quit the gym. Lasted a whole three months. I think that between walking the dog & masturbating for hours a day, several days a week that I'm good with the calorie-burning.

Wha? Summer's Just About Over? Good deal!

Yes! Summer's really just about over! YES!

The end of Summer means the beginning of Fall which is my favorite season, and I'm excited. Aren't you? Over the last couple of months, I've channeled some significant energy into getting my home office or my Webwhore Headquarters (to borrow from Trixie's vernacular) set up. It took me forever to paint and redecorate, but the place turning out pretty decent (as you can see in that picture up there, I hope). I'm not finished unpacking all of my clothes yet -- costumes & shoes are still trying to get situated. I always forget *exactly* how much stuff I've got until I try to unpack and then amongst all of the wilting cardboard I remember and am overwhelmed. Instead of letting myself feel too daunted, I've tried to remain optimistic that I'll actually get to use all of these high heels and lacy underthings on webcam. And Halloween is coming!!! I've a renewed enthusiasm for trying to have this room set up for costume-themed webcamming. While we're on the topic of costumes and Halloween. I wonder what my viewers and online friends would like to see me in this year? I have a few ensembles that I've not yet debuted, but if you'd like to pick something new from my Amazon Wishlist -- I added a bunch of sexy costumes. Certainly couldn't hurt to have a few more, right?

Since the last time I blogged, I've been up to a few other things as well. BigD and I have made a commitment to being more healthy and so we -- *gasp* -- have joined a gym! I know, I know, you probably never thought you'd see the day that junk-foodie AmberLily would be exercising the conventional way, but alas, I am. I'm also the biggest whiner when it's time go too. ;) Still, it's better to try to make some improvements in the name of keeping fit and with my no longer working out on a nightly basis on a stripclub's stage -- having a gym membership seems like the best option. I can't say that I'm feeling more toned or anything yet. I've always felt like that kind of thing comes and goes on me from week to week anyway, but aren't you proud of me for trying? I've cut down on the amount of sugary sweets I eat but I haven't cut them out of my diet altogether. Wouldn't that be totally futile now that stores everywhere are stocking their shelves with fun-sized candies and Starbucks has brought back their Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Methinks so.

Other notable investments have been a second computer for my webwork (this time a PC) and SoCal resident annual passports to Disneyland. Whoo hoo! I'm still in the "adapting to Windows 7 phase" with the new machine, but really, it can only mean good things as I buckle down and use some of my days off from camming on Streamate to work on website stuff. And the other days off, well, don't you agree that they should be spent doing something fun? That's where Disneyland comes in. It's nice to pop on over to Mickey's place, hit a couple of rides, and then grab dinner without the pressure of trying to squeeze in as much Disney fun as possible because we know we won't be back until next year. Having passes gives us more breathing room to take in a little here and there -- and I'm thankful for it. So don't be surprised if you see more cellphone snaps like this one with me stuffing my face on bread pudding at the Cafe Orleans in my TwitPics. I promise I'll try to figure out how to rotate pics in my silly phone next time around, lol. (Lordy, I miss my old phone, it was easier with that kind of thing.)

I should shake a leg and get in the shower before I start webcamming tonight/this morning. Here's the view from my chatroom if you haven't visited me on Streamate in awhile.

Star Wars Links Worth Hitting

I've been on a roll recently with sharing some amazing/sexy/adorable Star Wars links via my twitter lately, but I know not everyone catches me for every tweet as I am somewhat of a twitteraholic. Why not share them here too. I have selfish reasons too, of course, if I blog about them -- then I don't have to keep them as bookmarks. I can just pull up my blog and revisit.

"The Amazing"

The Ultimate Star Wars Apartment

Now, this place is probably the most tidy looking nerd palace I've ever seen. Most collector homes are chock full of not only collectibles but clutter as well. Originally spotted at Gizmodo via this link that was posted by Adam Frucci I believe I might have seen it elsewhere but am not sure now. I think the only things that are missing are the original Star Wars stuff of the Hasbro action figure variety. It's entirely too grown-up over there and needs some kids toys in the mix. It's possible that those are loaded up, still in their original blister packs, hidden in the closet or under the bed. If you think the above picture that I snagged is cool, then you need to see the whole set. And then, read all of the totally jealous user comments. So many boys, so green with envy over other boys collections -- trying to dis it all the way instead of appreciating it for the super stellar spectacle that it is.

"The Sexy"

Galactic Empire Corset Collection

Aren't these Star Wars corsets the freaking bomb? I was completely *blown away* by how original and how sexy these are. And if I were in the market to spend $500-600 on something Star Wars-y, this would be at the top of the list. If pressed to pick between the Galactic Lord or the Galactic Trooper, it would be the Galactic Lord Corset all the way. The matching shrug with floaty cape are divine! And how terribly practical that it also comes with a utility belt. Somewhere to put the keys to the Death Star! :) I first saw these gorgeous costume pieces on Spike, but a quick search on Google turned up the actual maker: Evening Arwen.

And yeah, I saw the Star Trek corsets over at Spike, but ya know, those just weren't quite tickling my fancy. They aren't nearly loaded, are they? ;)

"The Adorable"

Animals With Lightsabers

How can you go wrong with Animals With Lightsabers? See, you just can't. And doesn't the photo above look like it could be my Captain? It's not, of course, it's a white kitty named Roxy. There's a variety of animals wielding lightsabers with more photos being added all the time, so it's good to stop by periodically to see what you missed. Ocassionally, you'll even get a fun Jedi Animal video. A sure way to lift your spirits & celebrate the Force at the same time.

Archie Andrews + Veronica Lodge = Forever

When BigD had first told me that my first comic book love Archie Andrews was proposing to Veronica Lodge in the 600th issue of Archie, and that it was all over the news, I wasn't the least bit surprised. Not even a smidgen. (Well, okay, I was surprised it was all over the news since "Archie" hasn't been a mega-trendy comic in awhile now.) If Archie was ever going to be forced to choose between Betty & Veronica, my vote was for Veronica as she made the most logical sense. I know, I know. That's not the answer you'd expect from me, is it?

I read Archie Comics for a few years mostly during the span of junior high (or middle school as it's called in Southern California) and have quite the collection gathering dust in storage down there at BigD's mom's house. I used to draw fashions for both Betty & Veronica and even had one of my designs chosen for Veronica in an early issue of her self-named title. I also used to write little articles or reports that the kids send in to Archie Comics that they in turn publish within a few of their titles and award small monetary prizes to. Winning those 1st & 2nd prizes with checks for $10/$12 (the exact amounts escapes me) not only were my first publication credits but totally fed my comic collection -- the funds literally went back to Archie in the form of subscriptions to all of my favorite titles. "Betty's Diary" was at the top of my list. Entire issues all from Betty's perspective. I loved Betty. Betty Cooper is the epitome of the "girl next door." Always sweet. Always doing the right thing. Always so conscious of what others feel and think. Always. And she never changed, at least not much over the years I followed her inner most thoughts. Too often, an almost complete doormat to Archie; he walked all over her in favor of Veronica without even a second thought most of the time. It was heartbreaking. The times that Betty actually did win Archie's attention were bittersweet.

The argument should not be Betty versus Veronica for the role of wife to Archie, but rather -- why would Betty want to be with someone who never truly appreciated her natural beauty, talents or intellect anyway? Archie's choice was clear to me years ago. The epitome "boy next door" wants what he wants, and he wants the stunning brunette heiress who has *actually* had some character growth in recent years. True, I haven't picked up an issue since I moved out of Memphis and left my favorite comic book shop behind, but at last glance -- Veronica wasn't a spoiled brat princess *all* of the time. Okay, so she'd still be flippant with her friends feelings, but she *learned* from her mistakes and made more efforts to be more like Betty while still being herself in the stories I remember. Veronica isn't heartless or brainless, and is more than just Gossip Girl precursor. Don't believe me? Go on, pick up a few of her issues, and you'll see she's more complicated than that. To say that Archie's making a mistake, isn't giving the characters, or the folks who've shaped them, enough credit. A marriage between Archie and Veronica is more challenging for those characters. There's more passion between them. Archie has never said that he sees Veronica more "like his sister" than his girlfriend. Once you hear words like that come out of Archie-kin's mouth, how can anyone think that his ultimate choice would be Betty Cooper?

Naturally, I'm not sure that I believe that this wedding will take place, that the legendary love-triangle will truly end. But it looks like I need to find my way to a comic book store, ya know, just to be sure.

Joss Whedon's New Show Dollhouse: My Initial Thoughts

(Is it just me or does it look like we can *TOTALLY* make out Eliza Dushku's nipple through her thin little tank top in this picture?)

**Spoiler alert, if you haven't yet watched Dollhouse and want to keep it all a surprise for yourself, stop here and read no further and come back when you have.**

When I first heard that Joss Whedon was going to have a new show, I was stoked. Of course, I would loved for it to be another Buffy universe spin-off. Like "Faith" or "Spike" (OMG, how I miss my beloved Spike...) or even a "Dawn & Connor" kind of spin-off (wouldn't THAT be kinky?). I swear, any of those, and I would have peed my pants. But then, I read some online snippets about it being a new sort of show. Darker. More action (yes, more action than just slaying demons). The way Dollhouse was initially described, I thought it was going to be more like what we imagined the "Fox Force Five" pilot to be when Mia Wallace was talking about it in Pulp Fiction: a gang of hot babes with guns and knives going on dangerous missions being sexy bad asses. And well, that's not *exactly* too far off. Dollhouse is more complicated than that though.

I'm totally behind the show's premise which is -- straight from IMDB: A secret organization that employs mind-wiped DNA-altered humans known as Dolls who are implanted with false memories and skills for various missions and tasks. When they are not 'at work' they are living in a real life Dollhouse which gives the show the name. One of those mind-wiped humans, a young woman named Echo, is slowly starting to become aware of herself and what's going on - all the while somebody on the outside is trying to bring the Dollhouse down while getting closer to Echo - possibly not aware that she is one of the Dolls he is after.

But... But I'm not sure the Dollhouse is pulling all of that off with flying colors in the Whedon-style that we've become accustomed. I'm holding off my final judgement because we need to see more episodes. At this moment, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just *feels* like it's trying too hard to work in the action sequences. I rather wished that the other characters, particularly Amy Acker's character, Dr. Claire Saunders, were getting more screen time. And how cool would have it been for one of the "evil nerd trio" from BtVS to play the part of Topher Brink since they're so similar? The second episode was enormously better than the first (which I've since learned was not the "original" first episode and possibly explains how it came to be as disjointed as I felt it was), and so I am partially reassured that Dollhouse could be the bomb. Still, to give us "A Most Dangerous Game" storyline for the second episode was, ahem, maybe a bit too cliche. The show has license to go into some very, very dark territory with this crisis of identity thing. Bouncing the Dolls back and forth from GFE providing fuck Dolls to bad ass ninja Dolls raises all sorts of issues. Maybe we'll even get to see some boy Dolls in action soon. Or at the very least, more of the Alpha-gone-awry storyline.

Was I the only one that loved hearing Eliza say: "It'll simmer your head meat down to a bubbly brainy fondue" in this commercial for Hulu? Now where is this sort of dialogue in the show? Does it really have no place in the Dollhouse? Hmmm...

The Seven Deadly Sins Quiz on 4degreez.com

Of Course I Want to See "Zack And Miri Make A Porno"!

It was BigD who originally introduced me to the works of Kevin Smith years ago with what is *still* my favorite of all of his movies Chasing Amy and then some time later all of his earlier movies -- so I can't claim to have been part of the nerd-fan base who knew him from his humble film-making beginnings with Clerks. But I can say that there is a special, warm-fuzzy place in my heart for his films that will always be there. The Star Wars fanboy banter in his movies always gets to me and makes me feel like it's okay to laugh at myself that much harder because *I* am one of those fans too. Maybe not as obsessive as some, but I think camping out on the sidewalk in front of a movie theater for two weeks to see Episode I gets me some street cred. (The fact that I also own a version of Princess Leia's slave bikini from Return of the Jedi that I'm dying to upgrade into an even more authentic version should get me some more.)

So yes, I *do* very much want to see his latest film Zack And Miri Make A Porno not only because it's a Kevin Smith film, but because it's comedic subject matter is near and dear to my heart: homemade porn! I'm not thinking it'll be terribly insightful on the whole making porn thing, but I am looking forward to the intelligent crudeness that's sure to get an empathizing/giggling nod from me. And I was most annoyed to read this news tidbit about how this total "date movie" is being banned in Utah because it has the word "Porno" in the title. Upon first reading about the hubbub, I was like all "C'mon, now, really? Like for really real? In this day and age?" There's a part of me that's still kind of in disbelief that this film was initially slapped with an NC-17 rating when if it's anything like other Kevin Smith's films -- there's going to be one or two brief flashes of nudity and heaps of colorful foul language with a sprinkling of nerd fanboy jokes to keep folks like me happy -- and that's all. No actual "pornography" -- not that I think there's a thing wrong with that coming from my perspective. ;) Yeah, so if you know nothing about Zack & Miri and go with hopes that you'll be seeing an actual porno, I can promise you'll be disappointed. So go to see it because you might see wit like this clip from Clerks 2. This is one of the highlights of the movie that I just *had* to dig up on YouTube to share. Super geek fanboys square off: Star Wars VS Lord Of The Rings. (And you need not ask which side, I am on. I'm with Randal all the way; there is only ONE trilogy!)

I'm not sure when we'll get to see the movie, but I'm glad that we'll be able to use my "prize" for winning the best ladies costume as the sexy Miss Freddy Krueger at the Halloween party I went to on the 31st. I scored two movie tickets for that one, whoo hoo! Guess that costume deserves it's own gallery of photos for next year, huh? ;)

Why AmberLily Doesn't Watch Politics

Yeah, I'm like this guy, Wyatt Cenac. Watching politics on television isn't really very *me* -- I mean, I do make lame attempts at paying attention, mostly because BigD's going to want to talk to me about it, but really, um, no, not me at all. In a nutshell, election coverage should be more like LOST! Something I can totally relate to and obsess over!

PS - Am I the only one who thinks that the big gray globe thing under Jon Stewart's desk looks like the Death Star?
